“Kurzgezagt” is German for “in a nutshell,” or so I am told by the producers of this channel. They’ve been around quite a while now, making a decent attempt at providing short explanations of complex scientific and philosophical concepts. It’s not just facts – they have their own editorial points of view on many topics, not all of which I would endorse, but they’re worth watching.

Oh yes, we have no bananas…
Most of the issues we see discussed in the media have their pros and cons, but I don’t think anyone actually wants to see the banana go extinct. I hope they figure something out here.

I listened to an audiobook biography of the guy this study technique is named after, Richard Feynman. If you’re one who assumes geniuses are boring, introverted people, you’d be surprised by him. He was quite the character, and yet a very valuable person.

In 1972 a terrorist group called Black September murdered a number of Israeli athletes at the Olympics in Munich, Germany. In the years to follow, many of the people involved in the planning of the attack went on to have really unlucky lives.

I have always heard that monkeys make horrible pets and you shouldn’t even think about having one. But everyone who does seems to be having fun. I’m not much for pets anyway, so it’s not a crucial question personally.

I take an antidepressant. Opinions on them vary widely, from “they don’t do anything” to “they can make the problem worse” to “you shouldn’t need a crutch to deal with your problems.” Here Jordan Peterson makes the strongest, most succinct argument for them I’ve ever heard.
