Would you buy an airplane and crash it on purpose to get views on YouTube? The Federal Aviation Administration apparently think Trevor Jacob did in this video, judging from the fact that they revoked his pilot license.

Somers In Alaska.
If you’re going to put your life on the air in the form of a reality TV show, why surrender final control to an A&E producer when you can tell your own story, produce your own product and upload it to YouTube? The titles here are a bit click-baitish but the videos are better than the titles. It’s not some outdoors Alaska survivalist thing – just an average American family making a living in Fairbanks.
Commercials you’ve forgotten about.
YouTube is a great archive for old TV commercials. Some are uploaded individually but usually they are in the form of 30 minute or so reels of multiple ads.
Live nature cams.
The Internet and the general electronic revolution of recent decades have allowed us to indulge in types of television that wouldn’t have been feasible in the three-channel world I grew up in. Just want something to glance at from time to time while working on other things? Enjoy a 24/7 live single-camera channel that simply waits for creatures of all sorts to gather at a watering hole in the African desert.
Bald and Bankrupt.
Some travel videos carry the message of “you should come here someday and here are the things you should do,” and others carry the message of “we go here so you don’t have to.” I suspect most people would put Benjamin Rich’s videos through what we used to call Soviet Central Asia (think countries ending in -stan) in the latter category. And he’s up to the job… in fact at times he’s downright controversial.
Trout and Coffee.
This channel has some of the most impressive video production you’ll see anywhere. Not just on YouTube, but anywhere. They’re the real deal.
The World’s Most Beautiful Homes.
YouTube has a number of people who will take you on tours of beautiful homes. Some of the tours are just for fun; others are advertisements because the house is for sale. In our household, Enes Yilmazer is considered the best of these, but there are more.
The Hip-Hop Physician.
Don’t let his goofy music videos fool you – Dr. Zubin Damania is a serious doctor who does a great job of explaining health issues and isn’t afraid to let you know when he hasn’t even made his own mind up about a health issue yet. I don’t always agree with him, which is yet another reason why he’s good for me to watch.
America in concert.
A fun hour listening to a favorite group of my teen years.
